- RACKED STITCHESFabrics that have inclined waves can be produced on either plain or ribbed textures. The chief racked rib stitches are made by using either of the cardigan stitches : (1) Rack every two, full courses (four reciprocations). (2) Rack every full course. (3) Rack every half course to the right and left alternately for X courses, knit half a course without racking and continue for X courses. Partial racked effects can be made by setting out the needles.
